Guardian Consulting Services, Inc. are a group of pharmaceutical consultants that specialize in medication management, providing comprehensive clinical services in a range of settings, including Long Term Care (Nursing Homes), Assisted Living Facilities, Adult Homes, Group Homes and Adult Day Health Care Centers. Through comprehensive monthly reviews, Guardian Consulting Services help their clients run more efficiently, and help identify potentially unnecessary medications thus preventing unwanted drug side effects.
Guardian Consulting Services was looking to create a custom application to streamline the services they provide. Before PharmPro was created, pharmacists would create hand written recommendations. This was very time consuming and not standardized. In addition, there was no drug database to aid pharmacists in making recommendations for alternate treatments. There was also no way to report on the historical facility data that had been gathered.
SharpHat met with Guardian Consulting Services to redefine their business process through the use of technology. SharpHat was involved in the entire software development life cycle, from gathering requirements, through design, development, testing and implementation. SharpHat continues to act as the IT department for Guardian, supporting the application and its users.
SharpHat created a highly intuitive user interface that allows users to rapidly enter data and increase productivity. The application allows Guardian Consulting Services to save time and money as facility reviews are performed in 40% less time. A detailed drug recommendation database provides pharmacists with rapid assistance. Historical data is stored for easy access, and a custom data synchronization tool provides users the ability to quickly transfer data to and from the cloud. Standardized custom reports enable Guardian to deliver real-time reports to facilities. A web-based administration system was built to easily maintain facility/drug/user information. Version 1.0 was released in January of 2006, and SharpHat has continued to support the application since its inception.
