Business Objective

With the advances in medical technology providing insight into the long-term effects of playing professional football, the NFL wanted to give its retired players access to the tools and resources necessary to live long, healthy and prosperous lives.

In order to serve the community of retired players best, the Player Care Foundation needed a digital platform that would not only inform the players but allow them to register for future events. They needed an application that would allow them to update and create new, custom content.

They also needed the platform to be engaging and as mobile internet traffic has increased year after year, the site had to operate on all devices, whether hand held or desktop.

SharpHat Involvement

The Player Care Foundation needed a modern website fully-dedicated to the assistance of retired NFL players. Having successfully collaborated with the NFL on a multitude of projects, the Player Care Foundation turned to SharpHat.

Wasting no time, SharpHat went to work wire framing, designing, and planning the functionality of a site that would embody the spirit of the PCF and make assistance readily available to those who needed it.

The Results

The NFL Player Care Foundation’s independent website launched on January 14th, 2014 and was instantly available to those veterans seeking assistance.

The site was an immediate success, with retired players using it as a tool to easily find Player Care’s eligibility requirements, support guidelines, and contact information. PCF has served over 500 former players and their families, providing financial assistance upwards of $8 million.
